On the left is a giant Alder tree, which is used for making furniture. These trees grow fast, so they are very renewable.
On the right is a GIANT Cedar. Cedar trees grow very slowly. Some of them were around at the time that Christopher Columbus discovered America, and are still growing.
These are the kinds of trees that grow to these enormous sizes in the Olympic Peninsula Rainforest.
